Salvatore "Sam" Sivigliano, 86, passed away April 1, 2013. Visitation will begin with a Rosary & Prayer Service at 6 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Family and friends will meet on Friday, April 5, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS, where graveside Military Honors will begin at 11 a.m.
Sam lived in the Kansas City area his entire life. As a young man, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII as a member of the amphibious forces on LST-584 from 1944 to 1946. He looked forward to the Missouri Amphibious Veterans reunion every year in Branson. Sam also enjoyed working in stained glass. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He will be missed by his family.
Sam is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Jim Molinaro; and grandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer.
