Obituary

Salvatore Joseph "Sam Mag" Mandacina, 52, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015, with his family by his side. Memorial Visitation will be 12-3 p.m. Saturday, November 7, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124.

Sam was born in Kansas City, MO, on December 15th, 1962. He was raised in the Northeast Kansas City area. He graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1981. Sam went to work at the family business The Red Front Bar and Grill in the City Market where he made many lifelong friends. He was also proud to have worked at Harrah's for 17 years and considered his coworkers as family. Sam was well known for his welcome smile and jovial spirit. It was rare for someone to meet him and not consider him a friend.

Sam was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Sam & Lucille Mandacina. He grew up going to his grandparents lake house where he developed a love for the outdoors. Sam went on to become an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting.

He is survived by his Mother, Roselyn; his children, Lucy, Alisha, Sammy Joe & Carlo Mandacina; and grandsons, Ayden Kanelakos and Dominck Bui. He is also survived by his brothers, Ted Mandacina and Jack Weber; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Steve and Danita Palma, Mike and Lanita Bax. He also had many nieces, nephews and cousins that love him and will miss him.

Though he is no longer with us in this life, Sam left behind many priceless gifts that will carry on. His love of family, wonderful sense of humor, and kind, giving spirit will endure forever.
