Sam Marcase (Simon Marchese), 89, Blue Springs, MO, passed away January 1, 2013. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 9:45 a.m. and continued until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 R.D. Mize Rd., Blue Springs, MO 64015. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Merlene; sisters, Theresa, Lena, Mary and Nancy; and brothers, Joseph and Jack. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Terri Marcase, Rick and Candice Marcase, Thomas Marcase, Delores Ortiz Marcase; grandchildren, Theresa Marcase Meyer, Thomas Marcase, Malena Rose Marcase, Michael Marcase, Matthew Marcase; great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Meyer, Maria Grace Meyer, Hallie Michelle Marcase; sister, Rose Balestrere; sister-in-law, Vivian Marchese; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family and caregivers, David and Angie Maples.

Sam will be remembered for his generosity and love of family, especially his wife Merlene and his three sons. His only shortcoming was his lack of enough shoulders on which to put all three of his sons. His strict manner of raising his boys was overshadowed only by the undying love he gave them.
