Samuel Michael
John Reffett
Apr 8, 2001 — May 17, 2022
Samuel Michael John Reffett, 'Sammy', 21, passed away May 17, 2022.
Sammy was born to Lela and Ryan Reffett in Lawrence, KS from where he loved to root for his favorite basketball team the Missouri Tigers. He and his family moved to Kansas City where he attended school in the Northland and graduated from Staley High School. He loved the game of baseball and was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan. Fishing was a passion and camping a true joy. Speed! Speed was the thing that he loved most. The faster he could go the better. Sam could not slow down.
Sammy worked as an apprentice plumber for his father. As a child he loved storms and dreamed of being a meteorologist. He would often create weather reports for his sister Carol and would present them just like an anchorman. Sammy's life, like many of us, was one storm after another. The storms have stopped, the sky has cleared, and Sammy has gone home.
Sammy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Mike Reffett, maternal grandparents Jay and Susan Corsentino, and paternal aunt Debbie Reffett. Sammy is survived by his father Ryan Reffett; mother Lela Reffett; and sisters Charlene Benjamin, Elizabeth Reffett, and Carol Reffett. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Carol Reffett; uncles and aunts John and Jenna Reffett, Dorothy and Mike Silvio; and cousins Paul, Jasper, Carollena and Suzie Silvio, Adrian Brunk, Cassie Gilliand, Lauren Reffett (fiancée Steven), Tommy and Christopher Reffett, Sierra, Andy and Olivia.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jacob Windsor, Jack Stoffel, Micah Hulse, Tyler Shanks, Zach Whitman, Tyson Day, Dominic Lindeburg.
Honorary Pallbearers: Phillip John Carson and Hunter Malott.
