Obituary

Santo DiMaggio, 86, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at NorthCare Hospice House. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, February 20, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at www.passantinobros.com.

Santo was born May 28, 1925 to Phillip and Serafina (Modica) DiMaggio. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific. He worked as a truck driver for Signal Delivery / Sears. After retirement, Santo was very active in sports. He enjoyed senior softball, bowling, volleyball and golf, and participated in the MS150.

Santo was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Glenda DiMaggio; his children, Phillip A. DiMaggio and wife Kristi, and Sara E. DiMaggio; grandchildren, Angelina DiMaggio and Colton Butler; sister, Rose Mingrone; sister-in-law, Lee DiMaggio; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
