Savina Guarino, 90, passed away October 17, 2018. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 22, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Anthony Parish.

Savina was born April 13, 1928, in Kansas City, MO. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity and St. Anthony parishes, and retired from the Diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph after 30 years of teaching elementary and high school. She was the "Queen of the penny slots" at the Isle of Capri Casino.

Savina was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary (Tripp) Monteleone; and her husband, Paul J. Guarino. She is survived by her children, Maryann Guarino, Paula Guarino, Anthony Guarino (Madlyn), Paul A. Guarino (Sandy); grandchildren, Jennifer Acosta (Raul), Nicole Guarino, Tiffany Guarino, Cassie White (James), Jessie Guarino, Mary Jo Guarino, Gracie Guarino; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
