Stanley W. Golon, MD, 57, Overland Park, KS, passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. Cremation will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Unleashed Pet Rescue, 5918 Broadmoor, Mission, KS 66202.
Stanley was born in New Britain, CT, on September 29, 1955 to the late Walter and Helen Golon. Stanley graduated from Fairfield University in CT and Washington University School of Medicine in MO. A psychiatrist, Stanley served as the Medical Director at the Guidance Center in Leavenworth, KS, and also worked at the Social Security Administration in Kansas City, MO. Stanley enjoyed traveling, history, the arts, animals, and pro wrestling.
Stanley is survived by his sister, Christine Fairwood; his daughters, Jacqueline and Danielle; his beloved companion, Margaret Weiler, and her children, Rachel, Joseph, and Rebecca; and his rescue dogs, Dusty, Fuji, Trixi, and Finley. He will be deeply missed.
