Stephanie Ann Armato, 59, was called home on Thursday, September 7, 2017, surrounded by friends and family, following a long, courageous battle with chronic illness. The Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. followed by Visitation from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 11, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, MO 64123. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .

Stephanie was born November 22, 1957, in Great Bend, KS. She loved reading, education, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Karen Welsch; her daughters, Frances Armato and Julianna Armato; grandchildren, Jiovanna and Leo Woodruff; siblings, Scott Shore (Debbie), Janet Flack (Jim), Liza Garza (Tim Alvarez); and lifelong friend, Virginia Begulia.

The family offers a special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at KU and Research Medical Centers – especially Dr. Haber – for the care given to Stephanie.
