Obituary

Susan (Polito) Braile, 88, passed away on May 1, 2022.

Susan was Born on October 8, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Theodore and Teresa Polito. Susan graduated from St. Teresa's Academy in 1950.  She married the love of her life John Braile Sr. on May 1 st , 1953.  They had a loving marriage raising their four children for 26 years, until his passing on September 20, 1979.  Her strong faith helped her overcome many tragedies throughout her life.

Susan was proud to work in retail her entire life beginning at Macy's on Antioch, then to Saks Fifth Avenue, Halls on the Plaza and ended her career at L&L Home Furnishings in Briarcliff.  Her gracious nature made her an extremely successful saleswoman.  Susan made so many lifelong connections throughout her career and never met a stranger.  She had a special way of always making people feel as though they were part of her family.  It was not unusual for Susan to include extra guests at Sunday dinners whether it be customers, friends, or family to enjoy Italian hospitality.  Everyone was always welcome in the Braile home. Susan was the true definition of a "classy woman".

Susan was the most proud of her beautiful family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, and friend to all. Susan touched so many people's hearts and everyone who knew her referred to her as their angel.  She surrounded everyone around her with love.  She was loved and adored and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.  We will keep your love in our hearts forever you are gone but never forgotten.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents Teresa (Fasone) and Theodore Polito; husband John Braile Sr.; and sons John Joseph Braile Jr. and James "Jimmy" Braile; and great-grandson John Michael Lackey; and sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jim Ferraro.

She is survived by her son Ted (Marilynn); daughter Teresa Braile; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nephew James (Ashley) Ferraro; and many cousins, godchildren, and dear friends.
