On the 18th of March, 2025, Susan E. Kelley, 86, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

Born in Denver, Colorado in 1938, Sue spent her youth exploring the Rockies, camping and fishing throughout the West with her family.  She graduated from The College of St. Theresa in Kansas City, Missouri, then moved to San Francisco to fly with TWA as a stewardess.

Sue eventually made a home back in Kansas City, where she raised four children:  Kate, John, Dan and Meghan, who survive her.  She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Alicia Kelley, and her grandson, Kirin Vasavada.

Travel remained a life-long love, in particular an affection for Santa Fe and the West.  Sue was an avid collector of indigenous Southwestern pottery and enjoyed Sir David Attenborough and John le Carré in equal measure.  Back in Denver, she thrived working at the city desk of The Denver Post, where she proudly received a Pulitzer Prize, along with her colleagues, for the paper's reporting of the Columbine school shooting.

In later years, Sue settled again in Kansas City, to be near her children.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who are nonetheless comforted by the possibility that she is now enjoying drinks with old friends who preceded her, a Bossa Nova beat in the background, and the potential of infinite summer coming on.
