Sylvia (Dicapo)
Inzerillo
Feb 9, 1945 — Jan 23, 2026
Sylvia Marie (DiCapo) Inzerillo, 80, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 23, 2026.
Sylvia was born on February 9, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Frank and Emanuela "Lena" (Mistretta) DiCapo. She graduated from Glennon High School in 1963 and married her high school sweetheart Benny C. Inzerillo on February 1,1964. They shared 40 years of marriage until his passing in 2004. A supportive wife, Sylvia lovingly cared for Benny during the later years of his life as his health declined.
Sylvia built a successful career as a commercial mortgage loan administrator and later retired from Jackson County, where she worked in the Public Works Department. She was a proud and involved mother, serving as a Brownie Scout leader and enthusiastically supporting her son's scouting and baseball activities. As a devoted grandmother, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, especially the memories made when she and Benny took them to Disney World.
Sylvia spoke often of the wonderful vacations she and Benny took with lifelong friends, Beverly and Earl Fuller and Vince and Kitty Benedetti. She cherished her weekly Saturday lunches with her two sisters. She took great pride in the tradition of making her delicious "rice balls" every Christmas Eve, which her family will forever miss.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benny C. Inzerillo; her parents Frank and Lena DiCapo; father-in-law and mother-in-law Andrew and Anna Inzerillo; and sister-in-law Rosanna Scaglia.
She is survived by her loving children, Lisa Badalucco (Mark) and Andy Frank Inzerillo (Leslie); and her cherished grandchildren, Michael Badalucco, Mark Badalucco, Gabrielle Moise (William), Benny Joseph Inzerillo (Jordon), Joseph Badalucco, and Julia Inzerillo. She is also survived by sisters, JoAnn Barelli and Mary Sciara (Dr. Ross); brother-in-law, Andy L. Inzerillo; and sister-in-law, JoMarie Sample (Lee); and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, January 30, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Badalucco, Mark Badalucco, Benny Joseph Inzerillo, Joseph Badalucco, William Moise, and Joseph M. Sciara.
Sylvia will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to her family, honest opinions and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
