Obituary

Anastacio "Tacho" Pete Hernandez, 83, passed away on February 3, 2014.

Tacho was born in Morrill, NE, on April 27, 1930. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jubencio and Amalia Hernandez; two brothers, Pete Hernandez and Jessie Hernandez; one sister Antonia Robles; grandson William Ray Smith; and his wife of 56 years, Norma Jean Hernandez. He served in the Korean War from 1951-1953 and then moved to Kansas City, MO, where he put himself through mechanical school and worked for the city at Public Works as a heavy duty mechanic, where he retired in1993. He lived a full life and cherished spending time with his family. He was active up until his last day here on earth.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his five children: son Kenny and wife Nancy Hernandez, daughter Claudine Smith, son Tommy Hernandez, daughter Cindy and husband Dave Vinyard, son David and wife Lisa Hernandez; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one sister Mary Veloz, one brother Joe Hernandez, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, at Sheffield Family Life Center. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Moore Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Sheffield Family Life Center prior to the service.
