Obituary

Ted Alan Braile, 67, passed away October 25, 2023. Services will held on Tuesday, October 31, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Ted was born on June 3, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri to Susan and John Braile Sr. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School and graduated from Northeast High School. Ted was a business owner all his life. He started his career owning a convenience store at 31st and Cleveland. He then became an owner/operator in the transportation industry.

Ted had a zest for life and was always the life of the party. Everyone will remember Ted by his spontaneous sense of humor, sarcasm, and wit. He was a family man, and his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends. He would play cards, keno and tell endless stories that would make you laugh until your stomach hurt.  Ted and Marilynn would take vacations often. They loved to travel to the beach or to Las Vegas. Many times, they would take a niece or nephew along for vacation as well. The happiest time of his life was being surrounded by all his nieces and nephews. They would all agree he was the greatest uncle in the world! His nieces and nephews will forever be grateful for Ted always being a father figure in their lives. We love you, Teddy! Ted had many lifelong friends and cousins who he would talk to daily. He loved going out with his loving wife Marilynn and friends to try new restaurants. He was an amazing cook and loved being in the kitchen cooking a meal for everyone to share.  Ted had a huge heart and a love for making others feel special. His memory will live on in all whose lives he touched.

Ted was preceded in death by his father John Braile Sr.; mother Susan (Polito) Braile; grandparents Theodore and Teresa Polito; in-laws Carl and Josephine De Maddalena; brother-in-law David De Maddalena; brothers John and James Braile; and great-nephew John Michael Lackey. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Marilynn (De Maddalena) Braile; sister Teresa Braile (Fred Ross); and many loving nieces and nephews.
