Thomas S. Counti, 76, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Cremation and private inurnment will follow.

Thomas was born September 6, 1940, in Kansas City, MO, to Vincent and Mary (DeLuca) Counti. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, serving as a chief helicopter mechanic. He was a small business owner from 1982 until his retirement, and loved the outdoors.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 47 years, Shirley Counti, in 2011; and his brother, Vincent Counti, Jr. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Toni Counti, Carl and Cathy Counti; his granddaughters, Ginnifer Nixon and Tiffany Counti; his great-granddaughters, Gianna and Gracelynn Nixon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and Kenneth Tann, Sarah and Carl Burns; sister-in-law, Ginger Counti; and many other relatives and friends.
