Obituary

Thomas R. DeMartino, "Tommy Frog", 82, of Kansas City, MO, passed away July 14, 2020. Visitation will be Monday, July 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Family and friends will gather after the visitation for the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th St Kansas City, MO 64155.  Burial services will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Dr Kansas City, MO 64156. Please omit flowers. Following the KCMO Ordinance regarding COVID-19, all visitors must adhere to 6ft social distancing, and masks are required at all times.

Tom was born on August 17, 1937 in Kansas City, MO. He attended Northeast High School before working as a bartender and cook at The Red Front in the River Market.  He worked at The Red Front for 20 years before finishing out his career as a cook for V's Italian Restaurant.

Tom married Carolyn (DeMaria) on September 25, 1965 and celebrated 54 beautiful years of marriage together.  He enjoyed most of his life cooking for his family and caring for all of his grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jennie (Denti) DeMartino; brothers, Charlie Zaffero and Ralph DeMartino; sisters, Mary Fontana, Connie "Tina" Spinello, Georgina Lamore and Lucille Arnone.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (DeMaria) DeMartino; his children, Phyllis Hunt (David), Lisa Peterson, T.J. DeMartino (Michelle), and Gina Montalto (Jimmy); sister-in-law, Phyllis Wilke (Al); and grandchildren, Tara and Jordyn Hunt, Joe Hernandez and Bret Peterson, Antonio and Tommy Ralph DeMartino, and Ava and Franco Montalto.

Pallbearers: T.J. DeMartino, Bret Peterson, David Hunt, Joe Hernandez, Jimmy Montalto, and Sal Montoya.
