Thomas R. "Tom" Knight, 62, Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday morning, July 22, 2013. Visitation will be 12 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 26, at The River Church, 4214 NW Cookingham Rd., Kansas City, MO 64164. Burial with Military Honors will be in Second Creek Cemetery.

Tom was born July 20, 1951, the son of the late Thomas and Jennie Knight. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ray.

Tom is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dottie Knight; sons, Shawn Knight of Kansas City, MO, Craig Powell of Council Bluffs, IA; daughters, Rhonda Rice of Kansas City, MO, Tammie Weaver of Raytown, MO, Kerry Knight of Pittsburg, KS; 19 grandchildren of which three resided with him, Jessica, Tommy, and Gavin Powell; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his son-in-law Terry Weaver, son Shawn Knight, brothers-in-law Bill Nichols, Parke McAdams, Clark McAdams, and grandson Robert Warburton.
