Thomas M.
Miele
Apr 4, 1951 — Aug 25, 2021
Thomas Michael Miele, 70, was born April 4th, 1951, in Kansas City, MO, and passed away on August 25th, 2021, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 30 th at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone MO 64119. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum, Kansas City North.
Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a simple man, who was not impressed with fancy things. He would be best described as a "man's man". He enjoyed cocktailing with his friends at Butch's and was always the life of the party. In the early days of his life, you could find him hanging out at Che-Bays Drugstore in the North End. He continued those early friendships for life. In the early 70's Tom started in the family bar business with his father at the Paris Inn. He went on to open the Cavalier Lounge and continued on in the bar business until the 80's. Tom spent a short time in the car business, and ultimately returned to the bar business running what his daughter would refer to as "the bakery". Tom was the store manager of Snyder's, on Independence Avenue, where he knew every customer by name. He was a staple there for many years, until he became sick.
Tom leaves behind his wife Margie, who he lovingly referred to as his "little bride" of 47 years. She was his sole caregiver over the last eight years of his illness and waited on him hand and foot for better part of 50 years. He loved spending time with his family. Nothing made him happier than having his children and grandkids to spend time together at their family home, where he was referred to as the "Mayor of Michigan". His grandkids were his favorite people to be around, especially the babies.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Lena (Cacioppo) Miella; father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Frances Tousa; and nephew Joey Palmentere. Survivors include his wife Margie Miele; children and spouses Tony and Tina Miele, Joe and Christina Mormino, Frank and Mary Miele; grandsons Salvatore and Joe Joe Mormino, Tommy Miele, and Anthony Miele; granddaughters Lucia, Grace and Franki Miele and Gabbriella Pettit; brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Darlene Miella; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Benny and Gerri Palmentere; sister-in-law Toni Giordano; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers: Chuck Mussorici Sr., Joe Belgiere, Nick LaBruzzo, Steve Saluto, Chuck Moretina, and Chuck Cacioppo III.
Honorary Pallbearers: Chuck Cacioppo Jr. and John Moretina (posthumous)
