Thomas Joseph Murphy, 59, Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at his home. Memorial Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, February 11, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice or the St. Mark's Parish Building Fund.

Tom was born June 29, 1953 in Kansas City, MO. He worked as an electrical engineer for BPU. He was a Harley enthusiast and enjoyed working on cars, especially his Chevy Novas. Tom was a loving caregiver to his aunt Marie Freeman, and was a loving and caring husband.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy (Morreale) Murphy; mother-in-law, Ann Morreale; and his faithful dogs, Maggie & Freeman.
