Thomas S. Rago, 78, Independence, MO, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, January 4, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the UNICO Scholarship Fund or St. Mark's Parish Building Fund.

Tom was born December 17, 1934 in Kansas City, MO. He was an active member and past-president of the Kansas City Chapter of UNICO National, where he also served as an officer in many capacities. Tom also served as president of the Holy Rosary Credit Union, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Becky Rago; his children, Mike and Pam Rago, Valerie Mussett; grandchildren, Jenna Mussett, Dylan Mussett, Terra and Mike Golden, Megan Copenhaver; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Vern Ault; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ron Donovan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
