Thomas F. Wright, 85, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at home.

Thomas was born in Cedaredge, CO on October 7, 1938, to Leonard and Lena Wright. He had a younger brother Don, who passed way too early in life. After graduating from high school, Tom moved to Los Angeles, CA where he attended Los Angeles City College.  He later entered the U.S. Army and served as a combat medic stationed in Germany. After the Army, he returned to Los Angeles and won a National Championship in Greco Roman Wrestling in 1960. He made Southern California his home, where he was married and had two daughters.  His love for his girls brought him to coaching softball, which would open a new world for him. He coached many, many girls and spent countless hours mentoring them all, helping them to win CIF Championships, National Championships, with a few becoming Olympic Gold Medalists. Twelve years ago, he moved to Kansas City, MO to live with his youngest daughter and family.

Thomas is survived by his daughter Pamela Albert and husband Greg Albert of Sweet Home, OR, and his daughter Christine Donnici and husband Joe Donnici of Kansas City, MO. Also survived by his grandchildren Ryan Hardy, Noel Murphy, Isabella Donnici, Joseph, Donnici, Salvatore Donnici and Sophia Donnici; along with six great-grandchildren.

Thomas had a huge heart, loved to talk to people, had a great sense of humor and would help anyone anyway that he could. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends whom he touched throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Requiem Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
