Tien Trung Bui, age 45, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2022 due to cardiac arrest.

Born on June 20, 1977, Tien immediately filled the lives of those around him with joy. Tien graduated from the University of Missouri in 2003 with a degree in mechanical engineering.  He went on to work in aviation engineering starting with Boeing in Seattle, Washington and ending his career at Virgin Galactic in Tustin, California.

Tien was preceded in death by his grandparents, and survived by his parents Khai Q. Bui and Maria Duoc Bui, his older brother Tien X. Bui and wife Nhu Bui, and younger siblings Thuy Ha and husband Tom Ha, Tuan Bui and wife Audrey Bui, Tu Bui and wife Sarah Her-Bui, Trang Bui and husband Daewun Sin, Tri Bui and wife Joyce Bui, Joey Bui and wife Adrianne Calumpong, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and many close friends who were like family to him.

Tien was a loving uncle to Andrew, Alyssa, Aidan, Abigail, Kennedy, Sophie, Cohen, London, Cameron, Taylor, and Reagan. He  truly loved them as if they were his own.

Anyone who knew Tien knew how kind-hearted he was.  He always put others before him and loved his family dearly.  As a retirement gift to his parents, Tien helped with the purchase of their home.  There was never a sacrifice too great for his loved ones.  Tien enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, traveling, playing pickle ball, biking, hiking, snowboarding, watching movies, playing games, and loved taking his nephews and nieces on walks.  He was adventurous, loved life and truly lived it to its fullest.  The memories we have of him will be forever cherished and the loss of his presence will be deeply felt among all who knew him.

Visitations will be held at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home on Thursday, December 8th and Friday, December 9th at 6:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at Church of the Holy Martyrs on Saturday, December 10th at 10:00 a.m., followed by his burial at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
