Timothy Walkenhorst, 63, Blue Springs, MO, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. Visitation will be 9 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 12, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Entombment will follow Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Memorial contributions are suggested to The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA.

Tim was born September 26, 1954, and worked as a systems administrator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 25 years. He enjoyed technology and tinkering with computers, WWII history, science fiction, and movies, but his true love was for his grandbabies – the reasons he woke every morning.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Terry Walkenhorst; and his mother-in-law, Nancy LaBella. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, JoAnn (LaBella) Walkenhorst; his children, Katie Barttrum (Wesley) and Chris Walkenhorst; his grandbabies, James and Lucy Barttrum; his mother, Patricia Walkenhorst; sister, Carole Winn (Gene); father-in-law, Carlo LaBella; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
