Tommy Pace, 85 of Independence, MO, passed away on May 6, 2021, with loving family by his side. Tommy was born on February 9, 1936 and grew up in Northeast Kansas City.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Joe and Nana Katie Pace, his three brothers: Tony, Jasper, and John. His family legacy began in Kansas City with the 'Pace Bros.' grocery store at 5 th and Cherry.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Vowells Pace; and his children Sherri Pace Stapleton, Kristina Phillips (David), and Mike Nelson; grandchildren Shane Stuart, Paige Stuart Strickland (Gordon), Jeremy Nelson, Vincent Stapleton (Brittany), and Krista Stapleton; great-grandchildren Jaxson Strickland and Vinny Stapleton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tommy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a God-fearing man who was a deacon at Full Gospel Assembly of God. He also served in the Army (Signal Corp) for three years. His love for old antique cars has been a life-long hobby and what he enjoyed. Tommy worked for Western Union for 27 years and was recently self-employed with his own heating/cooling business, 'Tommy T. Service'. He mostly loved his family and family gatherings. Tommy also enjoyed going out to eat and pie for dessert.
There will be no service at this time. Thank you for your prayers and condolences for the family.
