Vincenza "Enza" Spinelli, 62, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m. Sunday, November 16, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Monday, November 17, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
Enza was born July 9, 1952, in Camporeale, Sicily. She worked as a tailor for Men's Warehouse for over 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting and dancing, and loved to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren and all her family. To all of her friends she was known as being feisty and was affectionately called "Mama Enza".
Enza was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe and Josephine (Maenza) Fontana. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Nunzio Spinelli; her daughters and sons-in-law, Francesca and Bill Canedy, Josephine and William England, Sandy and Jason McCarty, Diana Spinelli and Cliff Perkins; her 12 grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses, Anna and Joe Corpora, Rosalba and Giovanni Adamo, Carlo and Joann Fontana; uncles and aunt, Saverio Maenza, Pietro and Josephine Fontana; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
