Obituary

Virginia M. Beck, age 91, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away August 27, 2021, at Cedarhurst Senior Living with her loving daughters at her side. A private service for Virginia was held on Tuesday, August 31, with entombment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum.

Virginia was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 14, 1930, and was married to the love of her life, John H. Beck, for 55 years until he passed away in 2006. Virginia and Johnny were blessed with three wonderful children: two daughters and a son, and eight grandchildren.

Virginia was the sweetest little Italian lady you would ever have the privilege of meeting. She never met a stranger and would talk your ear off if given the opportunity. Virginia and John were both avid Chiefs fans and watching football has become one of the most treasured family traditions and memories. Virginia was happiest when she was with her family, friends, and neighbors. Nothing made her smile more than having her family over, especially on holidays and for basta on Sundays. When you came over, you ate whether you were hungry or not; no one ever had enough. Virginia continued the standing tradition of making Italian cookies for weddings and holidays, but the experience was made even more special when daughters and granddaughters took up the tradition.

If her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had to name the person that was the most proud of them, it would've been Virginia. It was nearly impossible for any of them to step out of Virginia's house without being thoroughly spoiled, unconditionally loved, and without many treats. When they stepped into her house the smile never left her face and she never allowed the smile to even dip from theirs.

Virginia was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church. She was also a member of The American Daughters of Columbus, The Camporeale Society, and N.A.R.V.E.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Dominic and Stella Mussurici; her brother and sister-in-law Vince and Sharon Mussurici; her brother Jasper "Jay" Mussurici; sister and brother-in-law Angeline and Sam Lipari; son Joseph Beck; and grandson Anthony Palumbo. She is survived by her daughters Denise Blando (John)  and Linda Palumbo (Pat); daughter-in-law Cathy Occhipinto Beck; grandchildren Catrina Richards (Mike), Chrissy Jolley (Shannon), Angela Parks (Matt), Pat Joseph Palumbo (Stacey), Virginia Hogan (Chris), John Beck (Anna), Carl Beck (Andrea); and 15 great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to Crossroads Hospice.

Pallbearers: Pat Palumbo, Bob Beck, Pat Joseph Palumbo, John Beck, Mike Richards, and Chris Hogan
