Virginia A. Calandrino, 79, Columbus Park, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday, November 9, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Virginia was born October 20, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to Eugene and Mary Agro. She worked for the Don Bosco Center for 20 years, and was a member of the Gillis Club with her friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all. She enjoyed her life to the fullest.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Louis Calandrino Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Joe "Booch" Malaponti; brother, Louis Eugene Agro; and brother-in-law, John Calandrino.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Salvatore "Bedu" Calandrino; her children, Mary Ann McGhee and Vincent McHendry, Gloria and Paul Guastello, Louis Eugene Calandrino, Salvatore D. Calandrino; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and John Lipari, Deva and Jim Rogers; brother, Domnick Agro; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Dori Calandrino, and Charlie Calandrino; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
