Virginia A. Cervello's Obituary
Virginia A. Cervello, 83, passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2011. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 318 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Anthony Catholic Church. Online condolences may be offered at www.passantinobros.com
Virginia was born October 18, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Calogero and Carmela Mussorici. Our mother was a woman of unimpeachable integrity and extreme independence. Although her loss is immense, we are grateful for her constant love, a gift that profoundly shaped our lives. She was a cherished mother and grandmother who led by example, was always devoted, and gave her life selflessly to her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She instilled the qualities of perseverance, loyalty, faithfulness and generosity in all of us. She handled her sudden illness with quiet grace and brave dignity. Mom, you were a beautiful person inside and out. Thank you for always being there for all of us.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Caracci, in 1997; her parents; and brothers Jack Mussorici and Vince Mussorici.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Don Orlando; sons, Joseph D. "Joe Red" Cervello and Charles J. Cervello; grandchildren, Jennifer, Dominic, Tony Mike and Charla Cervello; and sisters-in-law, Rosalie Mussorici and Josephine Mussorici.
The family offers heartfelt thanks for the loyal support and love extended by Elaina Molle, Mary Lynn Tighe, Maria Urnise, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, with a special thank you to her long time physician and godchild, Dr. Joe Palazola. We also wish to thank Dr. Robert D. Marvin, James E. Marvin, Anita Cammisano, Stacey Johnson, and Rosey Sheridan as well as the staff of NorthCare Hospice all of whom helped care for our mother.
