Virginia Sanchez, 70, of Kansas City, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2022.

Virginia's two greatest loves were the Lord and family. She was always available to lend a loving heart and words of comfort for anyone in need. Virginia worked at Children's Mercy Hospital for at least 15 years and eventually retired. She was a tribal member of the Kickapoo (Kiikaapoi) Tribe in Kansas.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Hazel Masquat and Miguel Sanchez; her sisters Joan Bent-Winsea, Marlene Slater, Mary Newcomb; and brother Paul Bent. She is survived by her children, Angela Salas (Joe), and Edward Metcalf; grandchildren Angelo Rodriguez (Nicole), Michael Rodriguez, Jr. (Jessica), Caden Metcalf and Paige Metcalf; great-grandchildren Ava, Valencia, Elijsha, Aria, Azrael, Ezra, Roman and Kaia; sister Patricia Ramirez; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved so very much.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, followed by burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
