Bill was preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Virginia. Bill is survived by his three beautiful children, Rachel, 29, a Chemistry Ph.D. student; Joseph, 27, a Chicago Attorney; and Rebecca, 24, a proud Kansas State Graduate ready to begin graduate school in social work. Bill loved his family more than anything, and cherished his role as patriarch. Bill was a truly selfless man, and taught by example the true meaning of love, sacrifice, and an ethical way of life.

Prior to beginning a family, Bill spent his life teaching and spreading the good word. The Jesuit community was always an important part of Bill's life. He embraced the Jesuits and their philosophy and position in the Catholic Church with his whole heart. It was they who fostered his faith, his intellect, and his many talents. He was always filled with respect for the Jesuit community both while he was a part of it and after.

One of the joys of Bill's life was teaching at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. It was much more than a job to Bill. It was a way of life. After his own family, Aquinas became Bill's extended family. It was there he made some of his closest friends. It was there he looked forward to teaching year in and year out. It was there he delighted in helping young people fulfill their intellectual and moral callings. Bill loved St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He always felt the Aquinas community gave him as much as he gave to them. Bill's funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City MO 64131. Mass will be followed by a reception at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, 11411 Pflumm Rd., Overland Park, KS 66215.
