Anthony Phillip "Tony" Vallacqua, 94, Louisburg, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2017. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. followed by Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 606 S. Elm St., Louisburg, KS 66053. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 25, at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Wea, KS. Contributions are suggested to Immaculate Conception Parish.

Tony was born February 7, 1923, the son of Paul and Rose (Cardella) Vallacqua, and was a 1942 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was recipient of 3 Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Unit Plaque, and the Croix de Guerre with Palm – awarded by the French government for valor in battle. Tony married Clara Bianchino on April 24, 1954. Tony and Clara moved to Louisburg in 1970 to raise their two boys. He had a huge garden he loved and the boys even had a few cows! Tony worked at General Mills, Coast to Coast, and Price Chopper before retiring at the age of 86, and enjoyed golf with his sons Jim and David, Royals baseball, Chiefs football, and visiting the boats with Clara. He was a member of Societa Ragusa Americana and Immaculate Conception Parish. Tony loved his family dearly and enjoyed having Clara's pasta and sugu on Sundays.

Tony was preceded in death by his son, David Vallacqua; and his sister, Anne Kosorog. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Clara; son, Jim Vallacqua (Lynette); daughter-in-law, Jeanine Vallacqua; grandchildren, Jenna Crooks (Jason), Anthony Vallacqua (Kelsie), Phillip Vallacqua, Savina Vallacqua; great-grandson, Landon Crooks; sister, Connie Bianchino; and many much loved nephews, nieces and cousins.
