Barbara J. Blackman, born December 1, 1947, at Saint Luke's Hospital to the late William Tracy Brislin and Emily Pauline (Taylor) Brislin, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at Saint Luke's Hospice House.

Barbara attended Thatcher Elementary, Northeast Junior High, and was a proud graduate of Northeast High School, Class of 1965. On August 4, 1967, she married the love of her life, Russell D. "Rusty" Blackman, Jr. From the beginning, Barbara chose to dedicate her life to being a devoted wife, loving mother, meticulous housekeeper, and an exceptional cook.

She is survived by her husband, Rusty; their children, Russell Dean Blackman III and Amy Frances Blackman; daughters-in-law, Dawn M. Blackman and Andrea M. Blackman; sister, Sandra P. Schirmer; and her cherished grandchildren, Andrea M. Hart, Victoria D. Blackman, Matthew D. Blackman, and Connor Lamb.

Barbara found joy in the simple things: her family, four beloved puppies, time spent outdoors, camping and fishing at Pomme de Terre Lake, and taking road trips. Her warmth, humor, and presence will be deeply missed. Things will never be the same without you, Mom.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, or Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
