Salvatore P. "Sam" Cicero, 96, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017. The Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. followed by Visitation from 3:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 6, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Family & Friends will gather on Tuesday, November 7, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Hwy 9, Kansas City, MO 64152, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Mausoleum.

Sam was born December 28, 1920, to the late Steve and Isabelle (Provenzo) Cicero. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Sam was known by all as one of the hardest working men that ever lived. He owned and operated Brooklyn Market for over 30 years, rising every morning before dawn to go to the City Market to make his daily purchases, and staying open on holidays. He had endless energy and a big smile. He exercised daily, walking five miles every day into his 90's. His pride in his work was only surpassed by his love for his family.

Sam was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Angeline and Tom Gialde, Josephine and Stan Gialde; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law and Louis and Lillian Lipari.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Rosalie (Lipari) Cicero; his children, Betty Campobasso (Dr. John), Margie Wessling (John), and Dr. Steve Cicero (Janet Kline). He was a role model for his nine grandchildren, Rozanne Witherow, Suzanne McKelvy (Tony), Chrissy Payne (Matt), Anthony Campobasso (Mindy), Cara Elbert (Jared), Brian Wessling, Sal Cicero (Lindsey), Nick Cicero (Mary), and Michael Cicero; along with 14 great-grandchildren.
