Sandra Alexis (Tuccillo) Lalumia, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospice House.

Born on June 7, 1942, Sandy was married for 56 years to the love of her life Anthony "Tony" Lalumia, and they were seldom apart. For 37 years they operated Carlitos Restaurant where they made lifelong friends and memories. Sandy retired after 30 years at General Mills but remained active in her many interests. She was a loving wife and homemaker, a great cook, voracious reader and talker on any subject, including her strong political choices. She relied on her faith and her Church, helping with children's classes at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, and at St. Bernadette's as a eucharistic minister.

Sandy is survived by her husband Anthony "Tony" Lalumia; and her three sisters and their husbands: Frances and Don Watterson, Lucille and John Amaro, and Michelle and Brian Smith.  She leaves behind her loving family of many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, neighbors, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Aldo and Mickey Tuccillo, and her brother John Tuccillo.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m.
