Michael A. Arnone, 89, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at Liberty Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Michael was born on October 23, 1936, to Gus and Clara (Cariddi) Arnone. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, papa, uncle and friend, and was a devoted Catholic whose faith was a central part of his life. He found great joy in serving others, especially through his involvement with the St. Joseph's Table. Michael gave his time, his talents, and his heart to helping others, never expecting anything in return.

Michael married Rosemary Abbolito on November 16, 1963, and together they raised their three children in the Catholic faith, providing them with a Catholic education, and actively participating in Boy Scouts of America Troop 125 with his sons for many years. Family was everything to Michael. He was the kind of dad and papa who was always there for them. He spent countless hours driving everyone wherever they needed to go, and making sure his family was taken care of. His love was often shown through the simple things he did every day, like being able to fix anything and making it like new again.

Some of the most treasured memories his grandchildren will carry are the times he spent teaching them how to make the family tradition Italian dishes. Especially around the holidays when they would have their annual Arnone cooking day, the kitchen became a place where recipes, stories, laughter, and love were passed from one generation to the next. Those traditions will keep a piece of Michael alive in every meal prepared with love.

Michael dedicated many years of his working life to The Hoover Company, always willing to help neighbors and friends with fixing their vacuum cleaners, driving around the neighborhood picking up the vacuum cleaners or fixing them at their home. But his greatest accomplishment was the life he built with his family and the love he gave so freely to them.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary Arnone ; his parents Gus and Clara; son-in-law Nick Najar; daughter-in-law Donna Arnone; his granddaughter Gabriella Marie Arnone; his sister and brother-in-law Rosemarie and Jack Ellis; mother-in-law and father-in-law Angelina and Joseph Abbolito; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary Frances and Tony Accurso, Phyllis and Pat Marotta, and James Abbolito.

He leaves behind his children, Guy Arnone (Angela), Deacon Joseph Arnone, and Claire Delaney (JD); and his grandchildren Grace Arnone, Dominic, Michael, Vincent Arnone, Nickie Najar, Cara Lawrence; and three great-grandchildren; along with extended family and many friends who were blessed to know him.

Services will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, Missouri. On Thursday, September 3, the Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. followed by Visitation from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Friday, September 4, Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Please omit flowers.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Sage Grove Staley Hills and special caregiver CJ Miller for the care, love and support they have shown Michael.

For 360 days, Michael lived without the love of his life, and his children and grandchildren rallied around him daily referring to him as "little man". Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort knowing that he is reunited with Mom and is now at peace in the loving arms of the Lord. We love you Dad/Papa and in your words "THANK YOU".
