Tom Lawrence Simone passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
Tom was born on November 3rd, 1930, in Kansas City MO to Phillip and Josephine Simone. After graduating from Northeast High School, he served in the Korean War from 1951-1953. Upon returning from Korea, he began working at Central Bag Company, attaining the position of President. Tom retired from Central Bag in 2000. Following his retirement, he volunteered at St. Joseph Medical Center, St. Thomas More Church, and Friends for Special People. He was also a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Throughout his life, Tom loved to travel the world with his wife Lenore, spend holidays with his extended family, dine at his favorite Italian restaurants, and work on countless home-improvement projects with his nephews Phil, Tom, and Jeff. He was loved by many for his kindness, generosity, loyalty to his family, and his clever sense of humor. Tom loved to tell stories about growing up in Kansas City, about people that he met during their travels, and, of course, his favorite foods. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and people in the communities he impacted.
Tom is survived by his nephews Phil Chalabi (Julie), Tom Chalabi (Barbara Ann), Jeff Chalabi (Theresa) and Gregg Aggeler (Sarah); nieces Kristen Page (Kevin), Jessica Smith (Joshua), and Lindsey Aggeler; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charleen and Harold Aggeler; great-nieces Ana, Olivia, Simone, and Kaley; great-nephews Justin, Michael, Christian, Matthew, Benjamin, William, Lane, Garret, Braydon, Burke and Huckleberry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Florence, Mary and Carme, and by his beloved wife Lenore .
The Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. followed by Visitation 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4th, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Donations can be made to Seton Center of Kansas City .
